An individual with perhaps a bit too much disposable income paid $3,190 of actual money at auction to own one of Steph Curry's mouthguards.
The mouthguard was reportedly found by a fan attending a Warriors road game and auctioned off by SCP Auctions in California on Sunday. Believe it or not, SCP vice president Dan Imler told ESPN he anticipated the plastic spit repository would sell for "at least $5,000." So someone really got a steal, I guess.
The item is listed as "game-used," which they verified by checking for bite-marks (they were there). The starting bid was $1,500 and seven bidders battled for the right to own it.
