During an NBA career marked by instability, Shaun Livingston has come to appreciate a good short-term lease.
Month-to-month rental agreements are as ideal as they are rare. Nine-month leases trump the more common yearlong variety, though even a 12-month rental is preferable to a mortgage.
“Rent, always rent,” Livingston said after Warriors practice Tuesday. “That’s the safest bet.”
He picked up this bit of wisdom during a six-year, eight-team odyssey that included two stays with the Wizards. Now, midway through his third season with Golden State, the 31-year-old Livingston is embracing an end — for now, at least — to his nomadic lifestyle.
