Russell reveals during Lakers-Warriors game the surprising routine that turned him into an All-Star

The one very bright spot for the Golden State Warriors as they’re mired in an injury-riddled 2-9 start to their 2019-20 campaign? D’Angelo Russell.

The Dubs point guard is averaging all kinds of career bests for Golden State — 26 points, 4 rebounds and 3.4 triples per game, while hitting 45 percent from the floor.

During Wednesday night’s ESPN broadcast of the Warriors’ regular-season affair against the Lakers at Staples Center, Russell revealed the secret behind his transformation from second pick overall in the 2015 draft to 2019 All-Star: naps.

“I picked a lot of peoples’ brains going into the summer,” Russell said in a pre-recorded segment that aired during a first quarter that saw the Lakers take a 38-26 lead.
