Rumor Central: Kevin Durant the key to re-signing Andre Iguodala, others

Kevin Durant will decline his 2017-18 player option worth $27.73 million so he can become a free agent on July 1. Though Durant is expected to re-sign with the Golden State Warriors, his salary demands could impact what his teammates will make, if they stay with the team.

Durant can get a max salary, which will come in at about $35 million, but that would force the Warriors to renounce several players to clear enough cap room to sign him. Durant can also accept a 120 percent raise from the $26.5 million salary he made in 2016-17 for 2017-18, which would allow the Warriors to re-sign their free agents via Bird rights.
