A head-spinning first day of NBA free agency only got wilder Sunday night, as just hours after losing superstar Kevin Durant to Brooklyn, the Warriors reportedly agreed to acquire Nets All-Star point guard D'Angelo Russell in a sign and trade.
In the move, reported by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Nets signed Russell to a four-year, $117 million max contract to ship him to Golden State.
Minutes later, Wojnarowski also reported that to make room for Russell under the salary cap, the Warriors were trading forward Andre Iguodala to the Memphis Grizzlies for a protected first-round pick in 2024 pick (1 to 4 spots protected).
