Report: Celtics intend to trade David Lee, or buy him out

By late February, David Lee may be playing for his third team in the past eight months.

The Celtics plan to trade Lee by the Feb. 18 deadline, or buy him out, according to Howard Beck of Bleacher Report.

Through the Celtics' first 29 games, Lee averaged 7.4 points and 4.4 rebounds over 15.9 minutes per contest.

But he has not played in Boston's last 13 games.

“That’s more about, he’s been in the league a long time and that’s more out of just … I’m not going to put him in there for five minutes or four minutes at the end of a game,” Celtics head coach Brad Stevens recently said.
