Long before “Curry Flurry” became part of the Warriors’ lexicon and Klay Thompson became known for occasional bursts of unstoppable offense, there was Sleepy Floyd.
Thirty years ago Wednesday, Floyd turned in one of the most remarkable games in NBA history, a record-setting, career-high 51-point outburst in Game 4 of the Western Conference semifinals against the “Showtime” Lakers at the Coliseum.
The 129-121 victory was the only one in the best-of-seven series for the Warriors, but far more memorable is the play of the former first-round pick out of Georgetown in the second half.
