The Golden State Warriors finally have two days between games – which gave me a little time to sit and ruminate on this post. There is a lot to unpack in the Warriors’ hard-fought loss to the Jazz, short-handed on the road as they were. But I want to digress a little bit and address the big news emanating from league sources this week – the fact that the NBA, in response to sliding ratings, is considering options as reasonable as a shortened regular season schedule and as outlandish as a midseason tournament.
At the risk of making something as complicated as the NBA’s ratings decline Warriors-centric, I’ll point out that this ratings slide coincides with the “end” of the Warriors dynasty.
