There was, I thought, a significant lesson to be learned from last night’s game—quite apart from the fact that the W’s were (again) missing four all-stars and so much self-evident individual scoring.
Last night’s game was a tale of two halves.
In the first half, the W’s displayed ample consistent evidence that they were quite intentionally focused on keeping the ball moving quickly on offense. The ball virtually never stuck. All the Kerr platitudes of bygone years applied.
“Make the simple play.”
“Keeping moving the ball.”
“Hit singles.”
“Pitch the ball ahead and let the next guy make a play.
