Packing it in: Game 3 Western Conference Semifinals (Warriors 142, Grizzlies 112)

Lao Tzu, the father of Taoism, said that the words of truth are always paradoxical. And in terms of basketball, the Warriors rediscovered the paradoxical truths that were needed to finally open the floodgates against the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday.

In order to beat the Grizzlies, conventional wisdom held that the Warriors must 1) take better shots and make the shots they were missing so badly in Game 2, and 2) double team Ja Morant and don’t let him beat them the way he did in the fourth quarter of Game 2.

Really, the Warriors needed to get back to the strategy that helped them in Game 1, which was collapsing on Morant whenever he entered the key.
