OAKLAND -- Oakland A's, Raiders and Golden State Warriors fans will no longer be able to park for free at the Coliseum BART station and walk over to home games, avoiding the steep fees.
On Thursday, the BART board voted unanimously to begin charging between $7 and $30 for each of the facility's 954 parking spots when one of those three teams play. For years, saavy fans would park at the BART lot -- which only charges a minimal parking fee during commute hours, weekdays from 4 a.m. to 3 p.m. -- and avoid upwards of $20 parking fees inside the Coliseum parking complex.
