OAKLAND — Nick Young was a bit surprised when his agent called early in free agency, telling him that Steve Kerr, the coach of the title-winning Warriors, wanted to meet with him in Los Angeles and he wouldn’t be alone.
“He told me he was coming with the cavalry — KD, Draymond,” Young said. “I was a little nervous like, dang, they really coming to meet with me?!? They the champs.”
Less than a week later, Young is officially a Warrior, signing his one-year, $5.2 million contract for the taxpayer mid-level exception on Friday at the team’s facility in downtown Oakland.
