NBA punishes Warriors’ Iguodala for throwing ball into stands

Warriors forward Andre Iguodala was fined $25,000 by the NBA on Monday as further punishment for firing a basketball into the stands at the end of the first half in Portland.

Iguodala, who was given a technical foul and ejected at halftime from the Warriors’ 115-105 victory Saturday night, was assessed the fine for “recklessly throwing the game ball” into the stands.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr was at first taken aback by the news of Iguodala’s fine.

“It didn’t surprise me that they ejected him, but I forgot that kind of stuff came with a fine,” Kerr told reporters in Phoenix Monday morning, where the Warriors will face the Suns Monday night.
