OAKLAND — The Cleveland Cavaliers announced that Kevin Love has been cleared for Game 1 of the NBA Finals, and Warriors coach Steve Kerr was happy to hear it.
“It didn’t surprise me,” Kerr said during his pregame media briefing. “I’m glad he’s playing. We want everybody playing. We want everybody healthy, out there competing. So I’m happy for him.”
Love, averaging 13.9 points and 10.0 rebounds in the playoffs, missed Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals against Boston after sustaining a concussion. He was cleared in the NBA’s concussion protocol program earlier Thursday.
Cavaliers coach Tyronn said Love will not be on a minutes restriction.
