HOUSTON — After considering the possibility of moving up the start of the NBA Finals to June 2, the league has decided to stick with its original schedule — playing Thursdays, Sundays and Tuesdays beginning June 4.
The Warriors and Cavaliers both took 3-0 series leads, which raised the possibility of sweeps in both conference finals for the first time since the NBA moved to a best-of-seven format.
Even with Monday’s Game 4 loss, the Warriors could — with a win in Wednesday’s Game 5 — have more than a week off. And if the Cavaliers close out the Hawks on Tuesday, Cleveland would have nine days before the NBA Finals’ opener.
