I know I’m being a smart-ass. And it’s a rather easy groundling aside to make.
But there’s also truth in it as well. Truth on every side.
It’s very likely true that this was DeMarcus’ best and most telling (offensive) game of the year. Right from the beginning what was most notable was not only that the other W’s starters weren’t trying to force-feed anything to help “get DeMarcus going,” but that DeMarcus himself seemed very self-consciously intent on playing within the W’s offensive system and “letting the game come to him.”
Entirely admirable.
Despite other comeback struggles, Cousins’ passing, screening, and unfeigned willingness to play within the W’s system have all been better than advertised.
