Once upon a time, there was an undersized, overlooked basketball player named Stephen Curry.
That’s the way this fairy tale starts, a long time ago in a far away land called Charlotte, N.C.
The story reached a high point Monday in a packed ballroom in Oakland, where Curry — in front of about 500 friends, teammates and family — received the NBA’s Most Valuable Player award. An award almost always reserved for players whose stardom could be spotted coming a decade in advance.
