I know I was supposed to feel celebratory. And perhaps if I’d have been at Roaracle I’d have felt much more so. It’s nothing to take lightly, of course.

But after beginning the game with a renewed defensive focus that propelled the team to a 31-18 first quarter lead, the W’s play devolved again. Their defense held through the first half. But unfortunately their own turnovers also held. And then the W’s gave up 67 second half points—and not only didn’t curb their 12 first-half turnovers but instead added another 12 to that number.
