In preparation for the NBA Finals, a music video starring Oakland rapper Mistah F.A.B. was released Thursday, depicting all things quintessentially Bay Area: rap, ghost riding, the Golden State Warriors, and the Toyota Prius.
The new video is a spin-off of a 2006 YouTube spot entitled “Ghostride the Volvo,” which depicts the reaction of a pair of A’s fans who’ve just learned of the team’s long-abandoned plan to move from Oakland to Fremont.
One of those fans, who goes simply by “Nate” in both videos, co-stars alongside Mistah F.A.B. The pair, along with a slew of backup dancers clad in Warriors gear, “ghost rides” a small armada of the region’s favorite eco-friendly vehicles parked near the Port of Oakland.
