Marquese Chriss is back with the Golden State Warriors. Nine days after being waived, the former lottery pick was officially re-signed, this time to a two-way contract.
Chriss is taking the open two-way spot that was left by Damion Lee, who, in a circular move, was given Chriss’ roster spot. However, Chriss doesn’t get the full 45 days of NBA eligibility normally afforded to a two-way player.
Instead, Chriss will have a prorated number of days, based on when he was signed. That number should be 24.
To maintain Chriss’ eligibility for as long as possible, Warriors coach Steve Kerr said that the fourth-year center won’t really be practicing with the team, as practice days count against eligibility.
