Playoff basketball returned to Sacramento for the first time in 17 years, and all in attendance were treated to one of the best games of the season, a high-octane, fast-paced, back-and-forth thriller between the visiting Golden State Warriors and the hometown Kings. But while the stakes were higher and the cast for the Warriors slightly tweaked and bolstered with long-awaited reinforcements…the results of the contest were the same as many of the Warriors’ losses on the road this season. Buoyed by some insanely hot shooting from deep, an enormous energy-and-effort edge on the offensive glass, unexpected contributions from the deep end of the bench, and of course the Warriors’ patented turnover and three-happy miscues, the Kings stormed back from a 10 point third quarter deficit to survive and light the beam, winning by a razor-thin 126-123 margin.
