SACRAMENTO — Speaking to reporters Friday at the Cavaliers’ facility in Independence, Ohio, LeBron James made one thing certain: the notion that he has considered meeting with the Warriors this summer is “nonsense.”
“The first thing I did is I started laughing, actually,” James said of first seeing the ESPN report this week that he would meet with Golden State in free agency if the team had a max salary slot available. “And then I thought about it. I think it's doing (a disservice), it's nonsense, and it's a non-story.”
After Warriors practice Thursday, several Golden State players poked fun at the idea of James — the unquestioned leader of the team that has faced the Warriors in the past three NBA Finals — joining them.
