Kyrie Irving has a fractured left knee cap, which will sideline Cleveland’s All-Star point guard for the remainder of the NBA Finals against the Warriors.
He left Thursday night’s loss in the overtime period after injuring the knee. He received an MRI on Friday at Stanford Sports Medicine Clinic, where the severity of the injury was revealed.
Irving will have surgery in the coming days at the Cleveland Clinic by Cavaliers head team physician Dr. Richard Parker. Irving’s recovery time is projected to be three to four months.
