OAKLAND — One day after Warriors minority owner Mark Stevens shoved Kyle Lowry and told the Raptors guard, “Go f*** yourself” multiple times when he fell into the front row chasing a loose ball during Game 3 of the NBA Finals, Lowry said Stevens shouldn’t be part of the NBA.
On Thursday afternoon the league and the Warriors didn’t ban Stevens for life, instead fining him $500,000 and banning him from NBA games and Warriors team activities for one year. The ban lasts through the 2020 playoffs. Forbes says Stevens was worth $2.8 billion in 2018.
Early in the fourth quarter of the Raptors’ 123-109 Game 3 win at Oracle Arena that gave them a 2-1 series lead, Lowry fell into the first row chasing a loose ball.
