Kurtenbach: Why the Warriors can’t afford to ‘mess around’ in Game 4

SAN ANTONIO — The Warriors’ first-round playoff series against the Spurs is over, but the Warriors still need to end it.

Such is the peculiarity of a closeout game in the NBA playoffs.

No team that has ever blown a 3-0 lead in an NBA playoff series, and watching the first three games of this first-round matchup, it’s clear that the Spurs will not be the first team to buck that trend.

But the Spurs can mess up the Warriors’ week.
