Kurtenbach: The Warriors’ ‘tank’ paid off with a best-case scenario playoff draw

I don’t know if the Warriors, losers of 10 of their last 17 games, didn’t care about the final month of season or if they were merely overmatched without Stephen Curry in the lineup.

We’ll find out on Saturday, when the playoffs begin.

What I do know is that the Warriors could not have asked for a better playoff bracket.

The playoff seedings went down to the wire this season, only the top two seeds — Houston at No. 1 and Golden State at No. 2 — in the Western Conference secure.

The Nuggets and the Timberwolves played for a berth in the playoffs, and the Jazz, Blazers, Thunder, and Spurs were all fighting for a better seed going into the last day.
