Klay Thompson’s dad greatly disapproves of NBA stars resting

If it had been up to Klay Thompson’s dad, the Warriors star wouldn’t have sat out against the Spurs on March 11.

Mychal Thompson took a solid stance against the trending practice of NBA teams resting stars Tuesday in an interview with KNBR.

“I don’t like it,” said Thompson, who played 13 seasons in the league. “Playing 82 games is not hard. The games are easy. It’s what you do between games that wears you out.”

The important thing, Thompson added, is maintaining physical health.

“You do that by going home between games and getting your rest, taking care of your body,” Thompson said.
