Klay Thompson scores 45 in Warriors’ 40th straight home win

Klay Thompson simply jogged back to the bench, as if nothing happened.

But he had spent the rest of Wednesday evening making everything happen, scoring 45 points in the Warriors’ 127-107 victory over the Mavericks on Wednesday night at Oracle Arena.

On a night when the Warriors didn’t seem to have their normal zeal, Thompson provided all they needed. He made 14-of-20 field-goal attempts, 7-of-12 three-point shots and 10-of-10 free throws in the sixth 40-point game of his career.

The Warriors (42-4) tied the 1966-67 Philadelphia 76ers for the NBA’s best-ever record through 46 games.
