OAKLAND, Calif. -- Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson had his legs inadvertently undercut by Cleveland Cavaliers guard JR Smith and exited Game 1 of the NBA Finals midway through the first quarter, but he returned in the second quarter.
Thompson was hurt after falling over backward over Smith in the first quarter. The Warriors are calling it a left lateral leg contusion.
The team said he was retaped and had announced that his return was questionable. But Thompson was back in the second quarter and promptly hit his 293rd career playoff 3-pointer to pass Kobe Bryant (292) for sixth place on the NBA's all-time postseason threes list.
