Klay Thompson powers Warriors to rout of Bulls

While his teammates practiced Monday and Tuesday, trying to move past just their eighth loss, Klay Thompson grieved one of his life’s biggest influences in Vancouver, Wash.

His mother’s father had long attended his games. When Thompson’s dad, Mychal, spent two years working in the Midwest, it was his grandfather who helped around the house.

“He was a tremendous man,” Thompson said late Wednesday morning, back in Oakland after attending the funeral services. “I’m going to miss him.”

With his grandfather at the forefront of his thoughts, Thompson powered the Warriors to a 123-92 win over the depleted Bulls.
