On Friday, John Beaven will go about his regular business as vice president of ticket sales for the Warriors.
But the significance of the day won’t be far from his mind.
“I try to treat it like every day,” Beaven said. “My dad would not want us to dwell.”
Fourteen years ago, Beaven was in Australia when the evening television show was interrupted by images of the World Trade Center being hit. He watched in horror. A few hours later, Beaven received a phone call from his mother.
“There’s a good chance your father was on one of those planes,” she said.
