SALT LAKE CITY — Ten months removed from the much-discussed text message that surfaced in Russell Westbrook’s inbox, the Oklahoma City guard appears to finally be on speaking terms again with Kevin Durant.
Shortly after Durant’s Warriors completed their sweep Monday night of the Jazz in the Western Conference semifinals, Kendrick Perkins — a Thunder teammate of Durant and Westbrook from 2011 to 2015 — revealed on TNT’s “Area 21” that Durant spoke with Westbrook on the phone April 9, when Westbrook broke Oscar Robertson’s single-season record for triple-doubles.
