Kevin Durant just wanted to get his hands on a basketball while NBA scouts analyzed him before the 2007 NBA Draft.
The now-Warriors star apparently wished franchises focused on hoops abilities rather than measurables.
“I remember it like it was yesterday,” Durant told ESPN’s Chris Haynes. “All the strength coaches were laughing at me and (stuff). They were giggling with each other that I couldn’t lift 185 pounds (on a bench press), and I was like, ‘All right, keep laughing. Keep laughing.’ It was a funny thing, because I was the only one that couldn’t lift it and I was struggling to lift it.
