Kevin Durant has long maintained that there is a whole lot more to life than basketball. And the Golden State Warriors superstar has consistently backed that up with his actions off the court.
This time last year, Durant pledged $10 million towards creating The Durant Center, an after-school facility in Prince George’s County, Maryland, where the NBA MVP grew up. And on Wednesday, with Durant in town ahead of Thursday’s matchup with the Washington Wizards, the facility officially opened.
The facility, called College Track at The Durant Center, is aimed towards making sure youth have the resources and opportunities necessary to make it to college.
