OAKLAND — The Warriors might have already lost Kevin Durant two months before free agency even began.
Durant left with 2:42 left in the third quarter of Game 5 the Warriors-Houston Rockets playoff series after landing awkwardly on his right leg. After nailing a baseline jumper, Durant immediately felt pain in his right leg. The Warriors called timeout immediately, and Durant went to the locker room.
The details surrounding Durant’s injury aren’t immediately clear. But Durant’s injury obviously has significant ramifications both short term and long term. The short term: Durant exited Game 5 after scoring 22 points on a 8-of-18 clip.
