Kevin Durant was accused of ruining the NBA when he joined the Golden State Warriors in 2016, and the former MVP is now being accused of making it difficult for the University of Miami's football team to recruit athletes from the South Florida area.
The U's new head coach Manny Diaz told the Miami Herald he blames Durant for the large number of high school football players in South Florida who choose to play football elsewhere.
"Look, the world has changed, and I'm going to blame the NBA," Diaz said. "Once Kevin Durant went to the Warriors after they were 3-1 up when he was at Oklahoma City — kids want to go where the winning is.
