SAN FRANCISCO — Kevon Looney’s health is trending in the right direction, but he’s not quite ready to return to the Warriors.
Head coach Steve Kerr announced Sunday that Looney, who’s managing a neuropathic condition in his right hamstring, will not play on Monday against the Thunder or Wednesday against the Bulls. Golden State will re-evaluate Looney when the team begins its five-game road trip Friday in Miami.
“He’s pretty good in terms of his rehab,” Kerr said. “Now, it’s more conditioning and getting reps on the floor before we put him out into a game.”
Looney was assigned to the Santa Cruz Warriors, Golden State’s G-League affiliate, on Tuesday and practiced with the team on Wednesday and Thursday.
