Just before the Warriors made their final preparations for the season’s biggest stage to date, head coach Steve Kerr brought the team back to the basics - as only he can.
Still on his leave of absence while recovering from two offseason back surgeries, Kerr decided to address the team right before Tuesday’s shootaround.
His focus wasn’t the Warriors’ chance at history (becoming the first team in the NBA to win the first 16 games of a season) or even their opponent (the Lakers).
Instead, Kerr reminded the players of the team’s core values: joy, mindfulness, compassion and competition.
