Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has been fined $25,000 for verbally abusing a game official, the NBA announced Monday.
Midway through the third quarter of Saturday’s overtime loss to the Kings, after Kevon Looney was whistled for a questionable loose ball foul, Kerr railed on referee Bill Spooner. Kerr clapped, punched the air and unleashed an expletive-filled tirade before being held back by assistant coach Mike Brown. Kerr was ejected for the first time in his 260 games as a head coach.
“I knew I was going to get fined,” Kerr said after practice Monday.
