This was just one moment, among many extreme highs, lows and middlings during the long weeks of the Warriors’ 2016 postseason, but it was one that I cannot forget, especially now.
It was one clear hint of what Steve Kerr’s friends were describing, quietly, as he fought through his medical issues–after missing the first 43 games of the season–and kept coaching and coaching through the playoffs, mostly keeping his distress out of public view.
It was a few seconds when I saw some of the agony and the frustration and the fight and the extreme hope for a better, healthier day… that did not come then and has apparently only gotten worse at the beginning of the 2017 playoffs.
