PHILADELPHIA — Point guard Jose Calderon has officially completed his buyout from the Lakers and is expected to sign with the Warriors, provided he clears waivers at 2 p.m. PT Wednesday.
Barring any unexpected setbacks, Calderon will join Golden State for Thursday’s game in Chicago. The Warriors released guard Briante Weber to free up the 15th roster spot for the Spanish national team member. A career 41.1 percent three-point shooter, Calderon offers a veteran presence for the back end of the backcourt.
His 12-year NBA career has spanned stops with five clubs, including 18 playoff games.
