Some turn out to be relatively meaningless. Do you remember when the Golden State Warriors swapped Lou Amundson and a second-round pick for Brandon Rush, for instance? No, you probably do not.
Other trades have fundamentally shifted the entire league. In 1975, the Milwaukee Bucks traded Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to the Los Angeles Lakers, where he won five titles. In 1987, the Bulls traded the No. 8 pick and future considerations for the No. 5 pick, a guy named Scottie Pippen. In 2004, the Detroit Pistons became bona fide championship contenders after they acquired Rasheed Wallace.
