The Santa Cruz Warriors have been one of the best teams in the G League this season (9-3 overall) thanks to the outstanding guard trio of Jeremy Lin, Jordan Poole and Nico Mannion. Each player was averaging at least 19 points per game heading into Tuesday when Poole and Mannion — but not Lin — were called up to the Golden State Warriors.
The original plan for Poole and Mannion was to complete their time in the Orlando G League bubble, then come back to the pro franchise. But Golden State is in desperate need of backcourt help, and both players have been showing out for long enough to warrant some action backing up Steph Curry.
