Thirteen-year veteran Jason Richardson is calling it quits, and the news is bringing back sentiments for Golden State Warriors fans.
Richardson spent his first six seasons with the Warriors after being drafted by the team fifth overall in 2001, and quickly developed into a fan-favorite for a franchise riddled by hard times.
While the Warriors were piling up the losses, Richardson shined on his own behalf, winning the dunk contest in back-to-back seasons (2002 and 2003), wowing the crowds with spectacular dunks such as this one:
The 6’6″ guard out of Michigan State averaged over 20 points per game twice with the Warriors, and played a focal role in the 2006-2007 “We Believe” squad.
