The playoffs unofficially started for the Golden State Warriors on Sunday night, when they hosted the LA Clippers for the final game of the regular season, in a contest with massive playoff implications. What followed was one of the most thrilling regular season basketball games we’ve ever seen.
But thrilling means heartbreak for one team and, unfortunately, the Warriors were that team on Sunday, losing 121-119 in overtime, in a game that was drama through and through.
With the loss, the Warriors miss out on a guaranteed playoff spot, as well as a dramatic first-round matchup with the Los Angeles Lakers.
