In October 2006, I decided to cope with the then-pain of being a lifelong Warriors fan by undertaking an experiment with the San Jose Mercury News called a “fan blog.” The Merc let me choose the blog name, and after extensive deliberations and soul-searching, I settled on one that I felt best reflected the subject matter: “Garbage Time.” A few days later, with the blog set up and ready to roll, I had a sudden change of heart.
