MEMPHIS — Center Kevon Looney will go to Santa Cruz to practice with the Warriors’ G League affiliate, a source confirmed to Bay Area News Group. The news was first reported by The Athletic.
It’s a positive step for Looney, who has missed the last 13 games with a neuropathic condition that has complicated his recovery from a hamstring injury that sidelined him for the preseason.
The nerve-related condition is causing chronic pain in Looney’s hamstring, preventing him from playing. The Warriors and Looney, 23, have consulted with outside specialists on his treatment.
The Warriors have used the G League for injury rehabs in the past.
