By now, you may have forgotten that the Mavericks were furious about their 127-125 loss to the Warriors last month and that they filed an official protest about a bizarre third-quarter play that saw the Dubs score a free basket. The NBA league office certainly hasn’t, though, and a decision is coming “before the week is out,” according to NBA insider Marc Stein.
In the third quarter of that game, the Mavs somehow got it in their heads that they’d be inbounding under their own scoring basket after a stoppage, but the refs handed Jordan Poole the ball to inbound on the other side of the court.
