After missing the season’s first 43 games, the Warriors’ head coach Steve Kerr will return to the sidelines tonight against the Indiana Pacers.
Kerr took a leave of absence in October following back surgery. He wanted to rehabilitate and recover and he gave no timetable for his return. When asked when he’d be back, Kerr speculated he could be out until the All-Star break.
In his absence, Kerr appointed Luke Walton as his interim head coach. Walton’s first year as an assistant was a major success, helping the Warriors win the title. It was Walton who bought into special assistant Nike U’Ren’s idea that Andre Iguodala should start Game 4 of the NBA Finals.
