Harrison Barnes says contract extension talks ‘are going well’

Warriors small forward Harrison Barnes used Monday’s media day as an opportunity to make his first public comments about his contract extension negotiations with the team.

Barnes switched agents this month and reportedly turned down a four-year, $64 million offer. He and the team have until Oct. 31 to agree on an extension.

“Things are going well,” Barnes said of the negotiations. “I’m obviously confident that everything is going to work out.”

Barnes said the goal is to ink an extension before the deadline, “but things don’t always happen that way. I do know that I love it here in Oakland, and this is my home.
